It’d be rude not to address a very fashionable subject. Prepare for an episode themed around identity…
There were so many directions we could go with this episode that we ultimately decided to chuck as many in as possible. Identity is very much in vogue, these days. How we identify… the ways in which we assert our identity… And then there are matters like secret identities. People who hide behind the anonymity of social media. All these and more serve as discussion points for this week’s episode of Bournemouth Backchat.
More specifically, could Art Attack‘s Neil Buchanan really be Banksy? How do each of our presenters identify? Can you really apply the working class label to someone who talks the way Dale does? Or to someone who lives where Aaron lives? There are references to the North/South Divide, and to people who can have more than one identity based on their accent and dialect.
Our hosts also take to a fake Twitter. To demonstrate just how easy it is for people to spout whatever hate they like with no fear of retribution. And we also ask the question – is it better to die a hero than live long enough to become the villain?
