ZeroC Holds Bedroom Design Competition for Kids

Dorset property developer ZeroC wants to keep your kids busy in lockdown. So they’ve rolled out this little competition to get their creative juices flowing…

As lockdown continues, you may be running out of things to occupy the kids with. But the property development company ZeroC has announced a competition that will keep them at the crayons. More specifically, children up to the age of 11 can enter their dream bedroom designs.

The winner, who will be announced on 29th May, receives £250 worth of Amazon vouchers. But that’s not all — the design will be made into a reality at the company’s show home at their development in Woolmer Copse, Hampshire. They will also be invited to open the show home at a ceremony, hopefully being held in the summer.

The Competition – In Detail

So what inspired them to turn this into a competition for kids?

“As so many of us are working from home and have families, we can fully appreciate the never-ending task to try and keep children busy throughout the isolation period,” explained Tamsin Fewkes, a marketing executive at ZeroC. “We wanted to give people something fun to do. We’ve been planning on designing the show home for a while and it made sense for a children’s bedroom to really look like what a child would actually want.”

Competition judges hope to see plenty of favourite colours, patterns and accessories from the designs. Children can even design duvets, carpets and wallpapers as part of their entries.

“The fun of this project is that there are no set guidelines and that kids can really use their imaginations and design whatever they want,” Tamsin continues. “We’re excited to see what kind of creations we’re going to receive. The more inventive the better!”

15th May is the deadline for entries, which can be submitted in either JPEG or PDF format.

ZeroC is a property developer based in Poundbury, Dorset, known for building high-quality homes and mixed-use developments from Cornwall all the way up to Scotland. Their aim is to build aspirational new homes and inspirational new places that are both efficient and cost-effective to live in.
